Thanks but all the diagrams of all the suppliers show the wrong rear signals for my bike. They are off to the sides and not mashed together with the rear running/brake lite.

Oh whoops looking at the wrong thing my bad... Only place I could find them was internationally and it would suck to pay shipping for that. Try your kawasaki dealer they can probably order one though it probably won't be cheap through them either.

Will the ZZR rear plastics even bolt to the US frames? I know the front cradle is radically different. The signals shown above are off the international version of the Ninja. As far as I know, nobody makes a kit to put signals like that on the US version.

Well the blanks are on my 2001 bike. Now to find the lens and reflector sockets. Certainly cleans up the look of the ZZR/Ninja rear end. I just took actual possession of the bike yesterday and gave it a good run from Niagara Falls to Caledonia through the back roads. I am impressed with the gutsy little motor and the ride of the wee Ninja. Six and a half years in storage and only changed out the fluids the other day and gave it the once over for the obvious issues if found. Burlington Cycle certainly did a great job on hibernating it for my daughter. A 2400 klick time capsule!

So you have a ZZR right? Could you possibly look at trying the signals from the 2001 kawasaki zx-6 that might work for a replacement. If you don't have a zzr and just the regular 250 I don't think it is a quick swap since the zzr version of the 250 has a different frame made of aluminum

Even though they were called EX250 Ninja in Canada, they were actually the ZZR. Both styles were available at the same time apparently. The aluminium framed unit would have been the bike to buy back then though. You are right on the rear signals from the ZX6 being compatible to the rear fairing on the ZZR though. See Bike Bandit has them for $45+ each complete. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers!

A friend of mine did that to his bike recently. Originally the lights were body colored and he took some goof off (graffiti remover) and cleaned the paint off to reveal the nice amber lights.
As for the wiring he broke the original signal lights apart and moved the wiring into the area behind those lenses.

Will look into it.. the "goof off" didn't effect the lens any?

He had to let it soak for quite some time in like a pudding cup and it wiped right off, then he washed it with warm water and it left a white residue sorta thing, he used goof off again and they are clean.

I will talk to him tomoro and maybe get him to tell you all about how he cleaned it off, I wasn't there for that part but the wiring I was.

Tail Light Paint Removal

Ya Codi pretty much told you everything you need to know. Don't be afraid that you'll melt the signal lights they are very durable. I let the signal lights soak from roughly half and hour, perhaps longer. You will see it bubble and that is what you are wanting. Try to soak it completely to keep it even, I was impatient and soaked it in a pudding cup and i was left with a strip of paint that was untouched because it was not soaked. So i soaked a rag in goof off and wrapped the lenses up and waited... and waited.. so finally I got most of the paint off. I then wet sanded the rest of the paint off, very carefully, with 600 and i think 1500 grit. It left the lenses cloudy from the sand paper but the magically powerful goof off buffed the light scratches right out. Also the white residue that was left from the goof off came off with more goof off, it seems the only successful way, because the white residue doesn't just come off with a light rub. Overall I came out with very nice looking lenses and I am very excited about them. The Goof Off is highly recommended!!
Hope this helps and I hope you all works out. Again don't be afraid of melting the tail lights!

Braydan
