Stayed loyal to Kawasaki

Got my new 09 ZX6R! YaY! Thanks to KKim for helping me out with the color. I remembered how he says green is faster and it stuck in my head, so I got green.

Very nice, so whats going to happen to the 250R?

Also, you got any mods planned for the 6?

I got a few questions for you. How does the bike fit ergonomically? How does it handle in slow speed situations? Do you notice the weight difference in the bike when standing still or coming to a stop?

Edit: How does the bike handle in average day street riding. Do you notice a difference in the effort required for cornering?

Nice! Only thing in common with the 250r is that green is still the fastest and the fender is still fugly

The bike feels really great. I'm tip toeing unlike my 250 where I can flat foot. I feel more leaned forward compared to my 250 with woodcraft clip-ons. I do notice the weight difference maybe because I'm tip toeing.

So far I've only ridden the bike 14 miles (dealer to home). Can't really comment on everyday street riding yet.

Also, the turning radius is a lot bigger when pushing to park in the garage or backyard.

Trunk space, what trunk space. I can fit a water bottle in the 250 with a cowl.

It's so fast though compared to the 250. So I'm glad I got the 250 to learn on first. I can't imagine even starting out on a 600.

It also has a gear indicator! Yay!

I agree a 100%! I think almost every bike out there has it. So that's next on my list.

Interesting....I am 5'7 how tall are you Minizoom? Just wondering how much a 2 inch seat height differences adds to a bike. If I were you the first thing I'd do is get a custom seat made so you can get to the ground more without messing with the bike by having it lowered, etc..

I'm 5'7" too with a 30" inseam. It's not that bad. Maybe I can find a seat on eBay and shave that.

It does come in Blue but not the shade I like. The blue was way too light.

That's one sick bike. There's one that's always parked outside the apartment complex across the street from my work. It's the same color and everything. Sometimes I just zone out looking out the window at it...

I'll be up there as usual, you know. As long as the road isn't crappy and I go home. If/when I see you up there, I'll turn around or wait.

It was total **** on saturday and not much better sunday. Hope they clean it up before the weekend... But they're usually pretty good about maintaining that road. Just got unlucky it rained thursday/friday.

What tires came stock on your zx6? I have Dunlop Qualifiers on my CBR and I don't think I like them.

I believe the stock 016s are different from aftermarket off the shelf 016s. The stock ones are a single compound and the aftermarket's are dual and triple compounds? Something like that...

The "Qualifiers" are a particular model of Dunlop. Here's their info on Dunlop's site. But in addition to the over the counter standard version of the Qualifiers, Dunlop makes some OEM versions for a number of different bikes. These may have harder or softer compounds, more or less steel belts, and consequently may both behave differently and wear differently.

Few folks are giddy over the performance of OEM Qualifiers, I know they were simply terrible on my 10R. I did a trackday on them to burn them off, and I knew I'd be taking it easy for the 1st day on track with that bike. They lived up to their poor rep, with inconsistent feel, only OK grip until they got greasy and lost much of their grip, and very quick wear as well.

Kinda having the same sentiment here so far...

I don't even think I'm gonna bother tracking them. I'll wait til I get something better. (And some track plastic)

the bt16s are really really good stock tires - my 07 came with bt15s that were decent but in the 08 comparo one of the other bikes had bt16s and they were a massive improvement over the 15s. I am quite jealous of the improvements over the 07-08 6Rs made in the 09s but i still really dislike the mini 10R looks (but i am a minority as I actually like the way the 07-08s look)

congrats on the new bike - you will really enjoy it. its a completely different beast than your 250 so take it slow the first couple hundred miles
