After I get it in the mail I will post a review and pictures for you guys. In the mean time if you guys want you can post where you bought the ones you have from and what you think of them for the other newbs!

Why am I unable to find "anything" with the search thread function?

I dunno. Seems to work for me; the only real hitch is that search words need to be 4 characters or greater...

I just ordered one of these...don't really feel like messing with spools. I appreciate the pic...pushed me over the edge.

I found a coupon code for Harbor Freight as well. $5 off and a free attache case (shrug) with $59 order, but it seems to have worked with a $39 order. We'll see if they cancel it.

Code is: 688-216-258

Grand total was $44.

cool. I'm sure you'll like it. I was hesitant about putting my bike on something from hf. I went to get the other swingarm stand they used to have but they didnt have it. I like this one alot better.

I think spool stands are supposed to be better. I don't understand how but the paddles will suffice.

When you lift the bike watch the left side as the paddle gets alittle close to the sprocket and also watch the right side as it gets close to the muffler like in the pic. not really issues but something to look for when u use it for the first time.

Welcome to the forum

Thanks for the tips...will look out for this stuff. For some reason, I'm just averse to the idea of putting spools on my bike.

Beats me...

I don't want to add anything to the bike if I don't have to, and the paddle style seems perfectly adequate. Maybe I'll find out that I'm wrong, but I can't imagine the spools being appreciably better, easier, cheaper or more stable...particularly on a bike this light.

Shrug.

I find the spools offer a more positive engagement of the stand to bike than the paddle type. I've used a flat bottom, paddle type on the swingarm before and to me it is just not a stable a setup as using spools.

I was very happy to see the new gen ninjas came already threaded for spools.

well, the good thing about the shogun (probably others as well) spool is that it also doubles as a slider in case of a low speed accident.
