What's for dinner? ...the Food Thread
Inspire by Chris' thread, I thought it would be interesting to see what others eat. Being that we are a growing community, I'm sure the diverse geographic, as well as ethic make up of our forum should provide a real diversity of foods.
So post up what you happen to be eating tonight or whatever you feel would interest others. Only one rule, it has to be a picture of what you are eating and not something from a setting somewhere else on the net. It can be your favorite meal, snack, dishes, desserts anything that you might want to share with your fellow ninjette members. yum... almost dinner time... gotta go see what we're having. |

I was going to say when I saw the picture, you have Korean in your family?
Some restaurants in Korea serve dogs. Now, before you say anything... 1. It's really ancient recipe. 2. Not many people eat it. 3. There are two different kinds of dogs in Korea. One as a pet, and other as food. And no. I've never had em.

I've just eaten dinner, but I have no picture. I ate rice with pork and eggs, followed by a cabbage broth/soup thing.
And yes I have eaten dog, coming from a Vietnamese background we tend to almost eat anything, I've eaten many weird things on my trip back to Vietnam. Including snake, snake heart, rat, dog, sheep brain, lizard, crocodile, and deep fried insects. You only live once, so I ate every weird thing I could get my hands on.

Depends how its been cooked, I had it slowly braised with like lots of spices and seasoning, so to me it just tasted like any other red meat, but closer to deer meat but more tender. But goddam, it was de-li-cious!

I would love to have some actual Japanese, Thai or Chinese food. The south has some good mashed taters and meatloaf but we can't do oriental. Oh man, I about forgot Jambalaya. It's just different when a Cajun makes it. So good....

My wife and I just got back from a dinner at one of the local Indian restaurants. I had braised lamb, vegetables, and rice (Malai Kabab) and my wife had lamb in a stew and rice (Saag), some naan bread, and a nice bottle of Argentinean Cab. Tasty - sorry no pictures.

Man! All that food sounds amazing! I had to work tonight, so I got a double-cheeseburger, chili-cheese fries, and some ice cream from work. I swear! If I keep up like this I'll be 300lbs the day after my metabolism dissappears. But for now, I can burn it off sitting on the couch, much less all the stuff I do.

Here you go, my mum's noodle stir-fry. It had prawns, some type of mushrooms, and broccoli. Nothing special as she didn't go shopping, just used stuff we already had.
Tasted yummmmmy!

Looks yummy, Mike.
The extra ingredient that made it taste like magic is the love she sprinkled it with when she was cooking. You are a lucky man. Hope you gave her a big hug and a kiss for whipping something like that up for you. If not... "Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200." Never overlook your greatest gifts. |

Kelly - do pictures before cooking count? We were at our fish monger yesterday getting the fixings for tonight ciopinno dinner and he had an awesome lobster claw in the freezer. If you could guess the weight within 0.1 lbs it was yours.
I guessed 2.3 and it was 2.25 - yuuuuuum. I figure a pound of butter should do it.
