I'm now bikeless
It sucks not having a bike anymore...
But it's for a good cause, or at least I think so. I sold my 2004 Kawasaki ZZR-250 last week. Would have been more then happy to keep the bike but... After awhile my knees would start to kill me when riding this bike. Just wasn't the right fit for me. So I'm now on a journey to find another bike. And sadly I'll have to wait till the 23rd till I get enough money. Three main contenders are the Suzuki DR650, '99 Honda VFR, and 99' Honda VTR Firestorm. |

I feel for you. When I sold my 250 I was out of a bike for 3 1/2 weeks. Take your time when looking for a bike.

Hmm looking at a 01 Triumph TT600 now.
Dealer here has one and the price is pretty good with low km's too. |

The DR650 has always been high on my list. That's probably my next bike.

I hear ya - one my 250 I look like a freaking pretzel folded up. It definitely gets a bit uncomfortable - however my body and knees have gotten used to it.

Man, I know the feeling of not being able to ride. But my vote is for the VFR. Good luck with your new purchase.

If you're into the DR, have you looked at the new KLR650? My buddy's got one, and that thing is awesome, or for more of a street vibe, the Versys is an award winner too. Just trying to keep the Kawi faith here....

Heh, well it looks like I may have found the bike I'm getting..
'01 Triumph TT600, only 8500 km's for $4500. Price seems right, bike is real nice (sounds absolutely amazing too...especially for the OEM exhaust). Comfortable riding position too. Has a Silver and Red paint scheme, looks great. Bike is at a new dealer in town run by a great guy (everyone so far has had nothing but the best experience with him). Put it on hold for me without a deposit. |

Was gonna take a pic of the actual bike at the dealer, but I had forgotten my cellphone!
Looks exactly like this one pretty much, except the one I'm getting doesn't have a rear seat cover/cowl thing. I'm so excited. |

Nice bike, as well as an interesting bike. There were a number of fuel-injection glitches that Triumph took some time to sort out, so make sure the bike has the latest and greatest fuel map loaded on it. Are you buying it from a Triumph dealer? If not, and the selling dealer can't confirm the full service history and what map is on the bike, perhaps they'd pay for a minor service at the nearest Triumph shop (or more likely, just knock $100 - $200 off the price so it works out the same).

Well they took the bike in to get all recalls fixed on the bike, so I'd think the updated fuel map would have been done then?
Not sure. Funny how I seem to be continuing the red vehicle trend though... First my car... then bike (the ZZR)...now this one. I'm not even trying to, they just seem to follow me around! |

Probably, but worth asking just to make sure.

I had a KLR. Too tall and too top heavy. Easily blown around on the highway, and piggish in the woods. My DR200 is a way better off road bike.
The DR650 is somewhere in between a DR200 and KLR in size, so it should be a lot better off road, and has at least as much power as a KLR on the street. |

Well I just put down a deposit on a new white '09 Suzuki DR650.
Should be ready by May 4th, possibly on the 1st if everything goes as planned. Feels like its so far away. |

It'll be here before you know it. BTW white would have been my choice too.
