Do fork legs from old gen fit new gen?
So pretty early on my mileage on my 08. at around 40k. The fork seals started to leak. And i remember my mechanic told me that it had some scratches on the fork leg and that was the cause.
I ordered some new seals on the intention of fixing my fork seals now at 80k . And completly forgot this detail he told me. So my question is, can old gen ninja fork legs fit the newer ninjas? I just need the upper part. I hate to have parts i dont need around too. I tried buffing it and sanding it, but its a little too deep to removed. Not sure how i got it. But i wish i had some fork protection so this would not happen. |

Old gen forks are 36mm in diameter and new are 37mm.

You could try some jb weld on the nick by filling it in and removing the extra and buffing it as smooth as you can.

JB weld will not fix a scratch in a fork leg. The scratches are very fine and the JB weld will not hold on the fork. You need new forks.

As many have pointed out, the fork legs will not fit but the entire triple WITH forks, 17" wheel, brakes, etc...WILL.

so far after changing the oil and adding the seals it is not leaking. Im hoping it wont leak But so far only did 240 miles on it. So ill let you know in a few thousand miles if its leaking. Meanwhile im might look on ebay for new tubes.
