Unknown hose

For the record, it's not the fuel overflow hose. I took the tank off for the first time tonight. There's a hose that starts between the carb diaphragm covers plugged into a rotating T fitting, and goes... nowhere. I did not disconnect it from anything when I took the bike apart, it did not suck vacuum when I started the bike, and went for a ride with it not connected to anything and the bike ran fine. There is a hose fitting on the fuel sender that was also connected to nothing, but I thought that was only for cali bikes? Any ideas? Thanks.

hmm...perhaps one of the many tubes involved in making the kleen air system work? I've been planning on gutting mine out, but never got around to it. (search for 'kleen air delete' and you'll know what I mean).

It's not the kleen air system, that's still fully intact. For now.

Edit: Btw, the unknown hose terminates beneath the seat.

That sounds right. Hooked it up to a vac line to see what would happen, and the bike died almost instantly. Thanks.

crank breather goes to airbox, carb vents and topend breather go to kleen air recovery system if i remember right which is basically a charcoal filter with a vacuum recovery system to stick the caught gas back in the gas tank. on my 92 fzr 600, they have the carb breathers open with a U shaped hose pointing up and curving down

its the crank case breather hose going to the airbox. you're also missing the clip that holds it on. with it open its letting fun crap get inside your crank case which i'm sure is really good for it.

yes, reconnect the disconnected hose.
