1986-1987 Lower Fairing

Hello all....I am picking up a nice low mileage nearly bone-stock '86 Ninja 250
it has aftermarket 2 into 1 exhaust already..(lucky me ) and sadly, it doesn't have the lower fairing :-( I remember my old '86 had one, and I assume they come stock with them... Going out on a limb here...does ANYONE know where I might locate one?? Airtech makes '88-'07 lower, but I don't think it would even fit. Maybe someone here has one laying around that they might sell?
I guessI could sit on the fence and wait for one to materialize on ebay

Did you ever end up getting that fairing or something comparable?

lower fairing

Well.... I ended up buying a lower from a 1994 ex250 with the forward mount, and waiting to pick up a set of mid-fairings from 1988-1999 model that I am going to hack up to fit to the '86's fairings. Made my own side mounts too.
Also picked up another '86 in boxes for $150 which had the after-market race lower...the bike was being set up to race but the guy never got around to it.
Right now I am busy dialing in my 2nd zx6r so the little 250's are on the back burner

Nice! Would love to see a pic of that aftermarket lower sometime. You say in boxes? got enough parts to make her run or will you be using them as spare parts?

re: Lower

It was a complete running bike that the guy tore down to do the necessary race-prep work...He had already started safety-wiring and adding bottles and all that, but never got around to finishing the build. The motor had low miles too!
I had a 2 into 1 exhaust made for it already as my other bike came with a 2-1 Muzzy exhaust....who knows it may get finished one of these years! LOL

You wouldn't happen to want to sell that muzzy exhaust, would you?

Muzzy

Yea....sorry...I'm not ready to part that bike out yet! LOL
For my other '86 I am using an '08-'12 Ninja 250R exhaust,,,I just have to change the flange collars from old exhaust header pipes to fit the 2 into 1, then it opens up more options for slip-on.
