So I shimmed the needles today...

And now I don't know what to do. As in, I don't know how to check if I've done a good or bad job. I have a two bros slip on and I removed the snorkel, so I put two washers under each needle.

After I put everything back together (minus fairings) I turned it on and it sounded kinda boggy at first, but I have been playing around a lot with that knob on the left side of the bike that controls the idle, so I played with it a little more and now it sounds...I don't know how to explain it...not boggy but not super buzzy. To me it sounds and "feels" okay but I just wanted to make sure here first.

I set the idle after I been riding for a while and it's complelty warmed up. Setting it while it's cold never worked well for me

The way to know is verifying the clearances under each cam, which just part of the valve job.
Next, comes the synchronization of the carbs.
Then, the adjustment of the idle rpms' after the engine is hot.

Well I took it for a test ride of about 10 miles and after it got warmed up it idled at about 1300-1500rpms. Also instead of almost bogging out when pulling from a light, it pulls off great!

And @Motofool thanks, I'll be sure to check out how to do that!

Also I forgot to add that my petcock was leaking fuel even though it was set to the "ON" position. It was only leaking small drops, but still. And what's the "PRIME" position used for? my bikes always been on "ON".

Prime is to intentionally drip fuel. This is helpful when you're taking the bike out of storage or have just changed main jets or cleaned the carbs and you need to fill the carb bowls in order to get the bike running.
