Red face Most shocking! Girl meets concrete.

I've seen my fair share of crashes but this had me cringing like a little girl watching her first horror flick.
Check this chick out...poor girl, hope she's ok.

Link to original page on YouTube.
Disfigured, paralyzed or a vegetable...I'd marry her! She freaking rocks for doing what she was doing.

Seems like your everyday case of target fixation...
Looks like she got too fixated looking right at the ground and forgot to shift her weight back, resulting in the faceplant...

She totally missed the landing ramp. It was intended to be a stadium moto-X type jump, right? Up one ramp into the air, then down another ramp to the ground.

What I don't understand is why she didn't bail out when she saw the landing would be to the left of the landing ramp. Better to bail and end up with a "double-Jiggles" dual-femur break than to take pavement in your grill from 25' in the air.

she was obviously frozen in fear...didn't even think to pull up on the bars and atleast straighten up the bike...

The guy actually acted contrary to normal human response which indicates to me he was either trained to do that or had been through this before and knew to move the bike.

Lets say that I am wrong though, he goes over to her. What is he going to do? He has no medical gear on him for treatment.
Yep, that rear wheel was inches over her head, I cant tell if he killed the engine or if it conked as it hit the ground, but the bike was in a position where it would have delayed any medical treatment & caused a problem for the medic stabilising her head as she was being rolled onto the spine board.

I would have moved the bike first. There's not much that can be done for her, especially since she landed on her head. The bike has gas, spinning wheels of death, etc...

From the looks of the video, I'd say her nose...

I lol'd. That's going to leave a mark.

I'm scared to even jump my bicycle down a curb, let alone dozens of feet in the air in a jump...

That was horrible.
Not that it would have made much difference, but I wonder why they didnt do that on dirt instead ?

She missed the ramp so either way it was going to end badly. She was set to land on the ramp not the ground which is why she was pitched so far forward. If you listen towards the end right before impact you here her rev the engine which is an old trick get a dirt bike to pitch upwards it was just far too late.

i actually don't understand how you can get the bike to pitch upwards by revving..doesn't that defy physics? how can you make a bike pitch when the tires aren't touching anything?

I know nothing about jumping bikes. However, my guess is that it is because the bike is in the air you can pivot the bike back with rpms. The gyroscopic effect of revving the engine must rotate the bike back. Or, perhaps the torque. Or, perhaps both. That's my guess.

You can feel gyroscopic precision and torque effect a propeller driven airplane and pilots must compensate for that. If you're a good aerobatic pilot, you can actually steer the airplane using these forces. Youtube Sean Tucker for a reference!

^^^ Exactly, the bike could still hurt people around... Smart move...

That was one horrible crash, I hope she makes it with minimal damage
