exhaust issue i think?

last week my bike feel over on its right side due to a storm that came out of no where and now my right side exhaust has huge crack where the muffler meets the tubing. when i ride the bike it loses power at about 5,000 rpms and feels like its running flat on its face. i can hardly get it above 55 mph.

well i tried the duct tape thing just for the heck of it and well it didn't work, the exhaust just found another path under the cone shaped guard. i will get some pics when the bike cools off a bit. oh and another thing i have a feeling my right side piston is shot or the rings need to be replaced, white smoke comes out of the exhaust for a bit and then stops after the bike has been running for a a while. anyone know where i can order some? thanks for the help guys

You do know that the stock pipes have a seam on the bottom of the cone shaped area that actually has an opening, right? This lets condensation out. Before you go tearing the engine apart, have you checked to see if your plugs are fouled? If it was on its side, there is a very good chance that oil leaked up into the cylinders, fouling the plugs. Trust me, if your rings were toast youwould know, as the smoke would be constant and also be coming out of your crank vent too. And it wouldn't stop.

Having BTDT, my advice is to do this, in order:

Pull the plugs and check for fouling (or just replace them with iridiums and never worry about plugs again)
Bang on the side of the carbs to make sure your floats aren't stuck. The handle of a long screwdriver does well in this regard.
Check oil level - you may have also gotten gas into your crank case, again normal from a bike being on its side.
Sniff your oil (just open the fill cap and sniff). If it smells like gas drain and replace, along with the filter.
Ride bike normally, all your problems are solved.
