First make sure the flux capacitor is operating in the proper gigawatt range.

Make sure you get all the freebies with it (helmet, gloves, jacket, boots).

Gear! Buy lots of gear!!! Or mooch $$ from your family and loved ones to buy lots of gear. I know it sounds cliche to recommend gear, but it's really important.

Gear. Gear. Gear. Helmet, gloves, armored jacket, armored pants, spinal armor. Then ride. Ride every chance you get because summer is short. Save the mods for winter (if you've got a garage)... it's much less depressing than staring at your bike and then looking outside at the piles of snow.

Seriously though, gear. Because everyone thinks it'll never happen to them, and then it does. Gear can save more than your life. If you're dead you don't care that you've lost a limb or the usage of a limb...

If memory serves, it should be tuned to an output of 1.21 GW for optimal performance.
