Umm I think I just bought a 250... Went to the bike shop and they had a "used" 2012 Ninja 250 with 388 miles, owned by a friend of the dealer. And well, I made a few calls, got approved for financing and am just waiting on them to give me my money, and then I'm picking it up... WOO-HOO! I'm no longer a bikeless forum member!

Lime green! Yeah that sounds good haha I need to find some riding buddies, half the reason I joined this forum! I went to Koup's up in Harrisburg. I've had bad experiences with Trans Am every time I went there. They just seem rude and they honestly never seemed to care. Of the 5 times I've been there, I think I've had NO ONE ask me if I needed help at least 3 times. The one time was before I took my MSF and was going to buy my helmet and jacket from them. But they lost my sale very quickly.

She's a '12? Is she lime green or candy lime green? The 12's got the cooler candy color though it makes finding color matched parts interesting.

Candy lime green. Not the ugly one haha

But now I have to get a new jacket... haha I always planned on getting a black or white bike... so my jacket is red, black and white... so doesn't go with green

And thank you!!! I feel like a little kid again, i've been smiling like an idiot since 10 this morning. It's something I've wanted since I was like 10. So finally getting it 10 years later... it's a good feeling!

O no lol I don't want green gear... though that would look good as an accent. I just want like black grey and white or something along that lines haha But that's not my big priority right now. That's a down the road sort of thing.

Thank you. Honestly I wasn't sure about the ninja. Don't get me wrong, I get all excited for sports bikes like any other guy. But my biggest love was always UJM's and old english cafe racers. This forum literally changed my mind. I like to be part of communities, no matter what the subject. So when I was originally looking to buy the Suzuki TU250x, I joined the biggest forum they had... it sucked. Not a lot of people there, and they weren't very friendly. This place is just a really nice place to "stay" so to speak. So I said F it, Ninja it is!

I'm not rich haha The way I see it, I'm planning on getting a new job by next fall because I get paid pretty much nothing. My partner also wants to start ridding around that time. So maybe by next spring, I'll have a 300, and I'll be teaching him on the 250

But as of right now, this is a much better option for me.

Besides, I never buy things when they are first release. I can't believe i was that close to breaking one of my biggest rules. I mean look, they can't even keep their fairings on right now

The insurance probably would have been noticeably higher on the 300.

it was a good financial choice, saving 2k right away and a couple hundred throughout the year. Spend the money on good gear and full coverage insurance.

Surprisingly from the quotes i got, it looked to be about the same for insurance!

This is very true! Matt their salesman should be fired. I was there 3 times til i made him sell me the bike. Even then he seemed like I was a pain in his ass. The parts guys however are great.

When I got my first bike, ages ago, the Kawi dealer referred to me as the "One who hates Kawi green!" So when I saw the CL ad for my current bike and it was green I was really tempted to not buy her simply due to the color. Then her owner rolled her out into the sun and that candy just sparkled!

No I called them and explained everything. They said it was fine, it's marked as sold and we're on a verbal agreement. Plus I talked to mom and she's gonna pay them while I'm at work. But right now she's at the hospital because my grandfather is having open heart surgery... so not the best day for this to happen. lol

O yeah, just got back from getting my check! Sadly since the car died, and with my grandpa being in the hospital having surgery it didn't get paid for tonight. So I had to promise that I'd pay for it in full, tomorrow. But I work all day tomorrow... so I won't even get to be there when my bike is being purchased... Sadly it's going to snow tomorrow, so I won't be picking her up quite yet... I don't even have pictures yet. I'm not very happy, but given the current situation I can't complain!

hahaha if it's not snowing when I get off work at 1, I might be riding her home tomorrow night...

But we'll see. It's not the snow I'm worried about, it's that here we usually don't get a LOT of snow, just ice... with that thin layer of slippery snow on top. Plus all of the salt and sinder they lay in preparation for the snow. I'm not expert but I'm assuming hit that **** in a turn is like hitting gravel... and bad things follow...
