Fork Oil
Does anyone know what the factory fork oil weight should be? The tech manual lists "Kayaba SS-8" and google reveals nothing at all about this marking.

my google search for showa ss8 turned this up...
http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&h...d34b7fe4309a3d seems like it's 10wt fork oil. edit...sorry, google pulled a switch on me when I searched and came up with showa stuff. I would say they meant showa ss-8 in the service manual which is a 10wt oil. Google doesn't even come up with any reference to Kayaba ss-8 dunno if you've seen this chart before... might help. |

That's what I came up with too. Showa and Kayaba (a.k.a KYB here in the States) are not the same brand. Kawasaki, however, uses both to build their bikes and the SS-8 marking is likely a manufacturers designation.
