Tuning factory carbs...yes or no?
I have been trying to find a thread about tuning factory carbs, or if it is possible. I am running a K&N air filter on my 2011 250 and just wondering if it is possible to tune with a factory muffler or do you have to spend the $500 approx on a new exhaust and jet to get a few extra horses?

A jet kit and tuning will be a benefit with stock or aftermarket exhaust.

For someone new to Ninjas but not new to bikes (myself), OP has a K&N filter. Would a rejet do me well on a totally stock bike?

As per the question about the K&N filter. Made a huge difference for throttle response. A worth while investment |

To take advantage of the Ninja's available HP, changing the stock 14 tooth front sprocket to a 15 tooth is highly recommended. |

Thanks for the info guys. I will look into shimming the carbs. I have the 15 tooth sprocket sitting beside the bike, it is the next mod to do before the snow melts

You can also remove the snorkel if you choose to.
There's plenty of reading to be done, just use the search bar to search "jetting" or "shimming", and feel free to post up and ask questions |
