If you really want to go all out, that is how I would do it. Both swaps have been done before by others, so it is possible. Some custom fabrication would be necessary though.
For the money you'd be getting a suspension and brakes that are light years ahead of the 250.

welp, If you choose to go through with this project, good luck. Im not going to waste time warning you about whats already been said. If you wish to keep the stock swing arm and just swap the rear shock, I have my R1 shock swap in my blog if ya wanna check it out. also in that blog/diy, is the link to the original R1 shock swap that i followed. once you choose a shock you want to go with, the process will be pretty similar. others have swapped a CBR 600r shock, GSX-R 600 shock, and even a ZX-6r shock. whatever you choose, Good luck and have fun
