OG-

It gets better. When you do a return, you can select either to have your credit card reimbursed 100% of your purchase price or take a 110% store credit. In addition, I believe they give you something like 10% off on your next purchase if you do an online review of the products you buy.... or something like that. Poke around their website and you'll be surprised what a great company this really is.

Glad you got your stuff... still waiting for them to get my helmet in.

For us in Hawaii, I've found their shipping rates to be excellent, especially on larger items. Not many companies know the meaning of customer service these days. It's refreshing to find one that does and goes above and beyond.

I've been wanting a TourMaster Transition 2 jacket in Hi-Vis Yellow (http://www.newenough.com/image/path/...ivizyellow.jpg) since November and everyone has had them backordered. January 30 I got an eMail from newenough that they had a shipment arriving so I placed my order. Got the notice that it would be shipping on 2/5 and when I use USPS from TX I usually get it the third day. Sure enough Saturday there is a box for me and with great excitement I open it up.

Well I didn't even get the flaps all the way opened and I knew it was a Yellow not the Hi-Vis Yellow. Got on line, ordered the correct one and requested an RMA. Megan eMails this morning and say's all their paper work matches up and they shipped what I ordered and gives me the standard RMA policy (I pay). Sent her a copy of the eMail to me that said the Hi-Vis was in stock and suggested it was a phone order and why would I order a Yellow when I was waiting for a Hi-Vis.

Bottom line, Hi-Vis in transit to me, pre-paid RMA sent to me, and 110% credit when they get the yellow one back.

Megan and company at newenough are everything Kelly has said they are.

Helmet: Scorpion EXO 400 (Tribal blue)
Jacket: Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Mesh Jacket with a ICON yellow vest for riding around at night and on base
Gloves: Scorpion coolhand
Standard blue jeans and tan army boots.

I've been looking at getting some overpants to wear over my jeans or whatever I am wearing, esp when I know it will be raining. I have looked at the Scorpion Deuce Mesh and Joe rocket Alter ego mesh pants. Has anyone had any experience with these or how do you like what you have.

I agree, it is pricey, but for street riding, by the time you figure the price for a good jacket and pants, plus the hassle of getting the right fit, it can be almost the same price. Not dealing with leather is a plus, too.

The Aerostich suit can be custom tailored for you if you find one off the rack doesn't fit you right. Their customer service and work quality is top notch... I guess you pay for that upfront. That is a well designed, well thought out MC specific piece of gear was my main attraction to it and it delivers.

For dedicated track work, I completely agree... stick with a leather suit. The AS suit can be used at some events, but not all.

NB,

I have the Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants. They have a lot of options, with the inside liner and zip-out panel they should handle all conditions, but I just use them when it gets cold or rains.

Are there any specific details you're curious about?

Things I like about the J/R pants:
they are the same as my jacket, the side zipper is also on the liner so they are easier to get on and off with the liner installed.

Things I like about the Scorpion: the padding/armor in the hip is thicker than the JR,

The padding in the JR, I don't know much about padding/armor in these, but to me it sounds like "armor" is better than "padding" and the JR had "padding" in the hip area and the scorpion has "armor". How big a difference is there? I haven't looked at them recently but I think the scorpion has movable knee/shin "armor" where the JR has knee "armor" that isn't movable based on your size/shape. If I am mistaken on these, let me know.

I basically looking for something that I can pull on over my clothes.

The JR has two pockets in each leg for the knee armor. That way you can adjust it depending on how your knee fits in when you're on the bike.

Whenever I wear them it's over my regular clothes with no problem.

Chris - be careful with the scorpion stuff - the cool hand mesh gloves are the ones that I crash-tested and they did NOT hold up well - ended up melting when my hand didn't even come in contact with anything - not so 'cool' - i'd be leary of their pants for that reason...

I love the Post Office - they sometimes deliver nice things. BTW I've found that when I'm ordering from neweough USPS Priority Mail gets here two days faster than UPS standard. Seems when they say it will take five days, it seems to make it to a terminal in a day or two but doesn't come to mine until five days no matter how long they are going to leave it sit.

Any way, I digress. A :drumroll: please. See and be seen.

Not kewl. The reason that I got the Scorpion helmet is because they were the best for the money. So, I take it the rest of the Scorpion line is not so good. Thanks for the tip. Has anyone else had/heard any other reviews on Scorpion gear?

Um, I don't think any mesh gear will hold up well in a crash, no matter the brand.

I think the helmet should be fine - I have the exo 400 and don't feel at all unsafe in it - it's just their mesh stuff that I'm steering clear if... I even considered getting some leather scorpion gloves to replace the first pair since they were so comfortable - but the A* fit better

I kinda figured that was the outcome. I am mainly looking at something that I can wear over my clothes to keep from getting soaked in the rain, but also have some type of protection in the areas that will get hit the hardest in a fall.
Right now, leathers are out the question due to cost and my family are all vegetarians, if I suggest getting leathers..........

Me on the other hand, I still like gnawing on some seared dead animal on occasion.

So far this is the gear I've got:

Bell Sprint Mako --- is Bell a good helmet brand?

Joe Rocket Luna 2.0

Cortech DX Ladie's Glove --- It feels too light... might get different pair soon.

ICON Field Leg Armor which I wear with jeans

ICON Hella Boots --- the platform heel helps me reach the ground better (I'm only 5'5").

ANY and ALL constructive critique and/or suggestions... it's all greatly appreciated!!

Sit your camera on a tripod, or anything about 4 feet tall, and use the self timer.

Just picked this up!

Has lots of great features plus it will get me seen, especially at night.
Which is good because my gear is all black. . . .

New dealer here got me a great price on it too.
Even if you don't factor in shipping, price I got was cheaper then online after conversion rate!

^ Yep, Icon.

Great back pack for sure.
I'd love to keep the arm bands as they would increase visibility at night greatly.
But damn are they ever annoying to get on, so I just took em off.

Thanks! It certainly looks like the details are well thought out I'll have to keep an eye out for them when I'm at the shop.

Which is good because my gear is all black. . . .

New dealer here got me a great price on it too.
Even if you don't factor in shipping, price I got was cheaper then online after conversion rate!
i got that bag too. love it! although i am not so sure about their quality control. i ordered my bag from motorcycle superstore. first one, a button was broken, so i sent it back. second one came. i thought it was good, so i ripped off all the tags and stuff. come to find out later that it was missing one of the zipper pulls for the helmet compartment. luckily the other zipper works, so i am still ok.

if anyone gets this bag, i would suggest to buy it locally and test EVERYTHING out.
