universal speedo problem
hi i bought http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...obalID=EBAY-IE this and as you can see in its photos the speedo cable is different than whats on my ninja 250. the current speedo cable has a metal part sticking out coming from thr inside of it and itnusualy screwed into the old speedo bottom which had a hole inside it but this new speedo is just like a normal bolt on the end with no hole in it.. can i drill a hole myself in that bolt or what should i do? thanks

It's an electronic speedo. You need to install the sensor on the fork leg and the magnet(s) on the wheel.

Looks like a knock off Koso.
If so, the magnets go into the rotor bolt heads. Depending on how many you have, they go in an even pattern (2 would be across from each other, 3 would be every other bolt, 6 all of the bolts, etc) The sensor gets mounted so the end is less than 8mm away from the head of the magnet (Koso has them marked with an N so the north side is facing out and the side the sensor picks up). I have my sensor mount bolted on using one of the front fender bolts, some use a brake caliper bolt.

Go on a bicycle forum and see how they install their speedometer. Similar concept.

Anyone have decent luck with these? I see several on eBay in the $20-40 range and thought about giving one a try. OP, would be interested in your experience.
