Oil puking out of breather? Too much oil?

It's from the S hose that used to be connected to the airbox. You know the deal. Just want to confirm if it's just too much oil and nothing else.

Thanks

Did you check your oil level via the sight glass?

If the engine is kinda tired and you run it at high RPMs a lot you will get more oil out of the vent hose.

Keep an eye on the oil level if that's the case.

Yeah, I think I may have overfilled it. Currently, oil sight is about 1/4~1/2 full.

Oil should be in the middle of the window, with the bike sitting up straight, and level, NOT on the sidestand/kickstand.

On the side of the window, you'll notice two marks on the cover, one low, the other high, thus is the range that the oil level is acceptable.

Put the bike on the center stand, on level ground.

The tricky question is whether the bike needs to be stone cold or 5-10 minutes after a ride...

Conventional wisdom is a few minutes after bringing the bike up to operating temperature, but checking the sight glass with the engine cold can give you enough information to determine if the bike is severely overfilled or not.

Temperature doesn't matter, as long as you give it a few minutes to let the oil drain back down from the head, etc... to the pan.

I usually check mine before I start it.

Is that a photo of a brand new bike? I don't think I have seen oil that clean in a sight glass evar. That reminds me, it might be oil change time.

Nah. If you take a little bit of older, clean, crap oil (something for your lawnmower maybe) and pour it in with the drain plug out after it's finished draining, it flushes/rinses out most of the rest of the old oil and allows the new oil to stay pretty clear.

That, or you may need to change your oil more often.

Mine is when it's fresh oil.
