Vancouver BC - any 250 riders?

I'm from Vancouver BC. Wondering if there are any other 250 riders from around here :-)

No way! I'm from Langley too! :-) Super cool! What year is your bike? Are you going to race it? Do you know about riding at Greg Moore?

It's a 08. I want to race this year but I don't know how much time I'll have. I went to Greg Moore last year to check it out. Probably go there and Pitt Meadows, I don't know if I will make it to Mission or not.

I'm not a big fan of Pitt Meadows. Its below sea level. The water seeps up through the pavement.

Never been there myself. Just got back into riding last year, just local stuff on my 600. I picked up the 250 as a track project for this year.

I prefer GMR over Pitt Meadows as well. Its a real track vs a bunch of pylons set up in a course.

Could anyone provide me with more information on this GMR? I thought our only option was Mission Raceways up here...

You can track or race your 250 and below here.
$500 ish gets you a key to the track and access whenever there are no kart or bike races scheduled.

And if anyone wants to go for a ride that's local let me know.

Did you guys build full race bikes, or did you keep them street legal?

Full race. Note too if you want to ride or race at GMR you must have frame sliders. You can buy on line or I know a guy who manufactures/installs in Langley.

Out of curiosity, what is the price difference between quality/price of online solutions versus the ones made and installed by your contact?

Where can a complete nub like me get more information on what must be done to start riding at GMR? Do I just need to read through all three PDFs that are provided on the aforementioned website, and I should be good to go?

I have no idea of costs. Marc is my 250 mechanic. Does all my stuff. Made me some awesome sliders. Don't remember what I paid. I talked to him and he said for you to call him. He can fill you in. His # is 778 809 4645.

There are some other rules like sound but you should be fine there with the 250. Otherwise no, you just fill out the forms, send them the $500, they'll give you a key and you're good to go. The other option is to pay by the day but it is quite a bit more expensive. I forget how much. $65 maybe?

If you are interested in any rider coaching there is a guy who teaches out there. His name is Scott Borthwick from http://www.insideracingschool.com/. He also organizes & runs the 250 Gold Cup series if you decide you want to give racing a try. His # is 604 799 1888.

When/if you call these guys just let them know you got their #'s from me (Marybeth).
