yeah haha. Bad luck on my part. I thought I had stalled the bike somehow when I first pulled over. Then when I watched the footage at home, I was surprised I didn't know/feel/see that I killed the engine lol.

never hit the kill switch when i was in motion, glad to see they must have put in a safety measure when designing it so that the rear wheel doesn't lock up when it gets hit while in motion. (does that make sense to think that? )

No reason for it to lock up. Engine can still turn, just not under its own power. This is no different that running out of gas.

Kudos to your sir lol

Another thread that makes me feel better about myself

Did the same thing when I first started riding. I was coming out from a dead stop , accelerating while making a right hand turn. Bike stopped before it could even take off, already in momentum, i almost dumped it. Pulled every muscle in my back trying to bring her upright agsin.
Checked for gas too. When I went to restart it , I flipped the switch and then it dawned on me what I did.

How long did it take you to realize that the cutoff switch had been flicked?

You're not supposed to hit your own kill switch. You're supposed to hit your buddy's kill switch while riding by.

You know, I didn't even realize until I watched the footage. But I knew something was off when I was going to start the bike up again, cause I was like hmmm I don't remember turning the engine cutoff switch off lol.

Not quite sure. I was probably going around 40-50mph in the video. Whatever feels comfortable!

grip the bike more with your lower body and consciously hold onto the tank and that shouldn't happen, that and go at least 30mph since the bike needs some speed to be comfortably stable and 250s lose power/speed quicker than a lot of other bikes (even 300s)
if you still have problems check your tires/tire pressure/etc

Haha I've done this before too. I was stopped on the side of the road waiting for a buddy that had gotten stuck at a red light. Then when he caught up, I went to take off quickly so he didn't have to slow down. But in my rush I must have touched the kill switch when I was putting my hands on the bars.

It might be the front tire. My bike was doing that too, back before I put some new tires on it. I've heard it's because the front tire starts cupping as it wears out and causes a slight wobble that is exaggerated when you take your hands off the bars. Anyway, after I got new tires the wobble went away.

oh man just the other day i got kevin so good.... the trick is to approach on the left so they don't think you are going for the kill then last minute switch to the right and pop the switch. kevin has developed good swatty hands though so if you dont surprise him its hard to get the switch

Haven't done that in motion, but I have done that right as the light turns green, with a line of cars behind me.

And I once pulled the seat off to try to jump start it before realizing the kill switch was flipped, since I never really use the thing.

I always seem to do it when the bike is already off. Get confused for a second, then feel like an idiot

I'm not into doing it to others, on bikes...autos are another story

the irony is that it'll make you less likely to bust a nut under heavy braking
