----------------- Two French riders, a German rider and a Swiss rider topped the timing sheets on their Yamahas, ahead of a South African rider on a Kawasaki. Lucas Mahias and Jules Cluzel were separated at the top by less than two tenths of a second, with Sandro Cortese less than a tenth behind, third quickest. Randy Krummenacher, Sheridan Morais and Marco Bussolotti were all around a half a second further back. The quick times disappeared after just fifteen minutes*as the rain arrived and everyone slowed down for the remainder of the session. Results:
