I think that's what most people use if they decide to go so far as to take off the original mounting point.

Yes they do, but those tend to reduce cornering clearance, and some states require your plate to be horizontal. Check with your local laws before mounting your plate that way

Yes. The classic model had pods for the tun signals because it was once intended to have them there is some countries. I've seen one person drill holes in his new generation Ninja 250R's brake light to turn it into an integrated tail light but, because he didn't use white or red bulbs, it wasn't very bright after passing through the red lens/filter.

I just realized I put this in the wrong forum. Anyway It was an easy fit. Just a pain in the butt putting though lic plate bolt lights in. The wires are so short.

I said to heck with laws and rules... I went with what I felt looked good:

Luckily for me I'm military and the bike is registered in MN while I'm living in CA... CA is one of those states that doesn't "allow" vertical plates... I haven't had anyone bother me yet and I've had many cops both civilian and military driving behind me... although I'm not a crazy rider so I'm generally not breaking any rules of the road... good luck with what you choose

thats what im going with a side mount tag but on the other side of the exhaust.. i doubt i will be laying the bike down completely on its side in turns so im not to worried about clearence issues. do those hotbodies undertails not use a taillight? just the led lights underneath?

I mounted mine similar to beqwarrior's... instead of using L brackets I drilled holes in the plastic and mounted the plate up as high as possible. I had to round the plate a little to get it to fit but really like the end result and price... I only had to buy the LED tag bolts, if not for that it would be free and only took 10 minutes to chop. May not be for everyone but works for me.

Pics...
