Oil change-190 miles-filter too?
Should I change the filter also or just the oil this time?

Can't I ask why the oil is being changed with so little use? Unless there's some extenuating circumstances, like sitting for a year or two unused, does that accomplish anything? Is there something wrong in asking that?

I didn't see the other thread, that this was a new bike and he's doing that for the break-in period, (even though Kawasaki recommends 500 mi), so EXCUUUSE ME. You could have answered that this was for that reason, not "here we go again". Thanks anyway for getting an answer to my question.

Your comments in one of my previous threads is the reason I said that. Your opinion was CLEARLY stated there and I thought you were just getting ready to battle again. Here is the thread...http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showt...ight=oil+break

Maybe I learned something since then.
I wasn't trying to do battle here, I was trying to ask why he was doing that so early as it wasn't indicated in the post. We shouldn't jump on each other so fast - Peace to all. |

That members here can work things out w/o it turning into a flaming war which usually happens on other forums. It goes to the maturity level of the members here and should be an example on how interaction between forum members should be instead of what it usually is.
Much props to you two gentlemen. |

Not sure why you would change the oil that soon as well unless it was over some period of storage. Theres a whole debate on how often to change your oil. Some people say way more often than needed some say way later. I did mine at 500 and switched to synthetic. I had people argue that I shouldn't use synthetic oil so soon. I did filter and oil, which I was comfortable with. I never had any problems.
I think if you going to find metal shavings or something of that sort, you'd hopefully know way before that point that theres something wrong with your bike. But then again not everyone who buys a motorcycle or car for that matter has the capability of understanding their car mechanically, and knowing when it doesn't "feel" or "sound" right.
