Do shogun sliders get in the way of carb removal?
So I'm in the midst of a round of upgrades to my bike.
In hand is my set of "after the horses have bolted" Shogun frame sliders. On the way are a used AreaP exhaust, a K&N filter and a jet kit. I'm going to be ripping into the bike this weekend and I have a question: Do the Shogun sliders cause problems with removing the carbs and/or working with them still installed? I'd hate to install the sliders first and find out after the fact (and after I've installed/stretched the special bolts) that I need to take them off to get at the carbs. |

They make it hard(er) to adjust synchronization and idle mixture, but other than that, they don't make it hard to pull the carb. I adjusted the mixtures with them on, so it is doable. Just harder with less space to reach in.
A "MOS" and a ratcheting right angle wrench with driver bits will take care of you. See my build thread pics.. think some of that in there.

A Milwaukee Offset Screwdriver... This little gem makes working on the carbs while mounted on the bike much easier. Around $20 at Home Depot. The thumb bracket can be rotated or removed completely, the socket is magnetic so no dropping bits... http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-48-3.../dp/B0000224AW |
