Wtf??!!
As I was checking my clutch "pedal" last night, I noticed something moving inside a hole within the cowl bar next to the radiator - it was a WORM! My bike had WORMS!? and it had a lot of 'em! It was never ending as I grabbed a stick and pulled them out - bizarre! They looked like maggots of some type.

Maggots usually get deposited in rotting meat. Is there a dead bird or other critter in there as well?

I know - that's why it was SO weird! I don't know if they were actually maggots (I doubt it) they just looked like it I was just saying that to give you an idea of what they looked like - if they are still laying on the ground when I get home, I'll take a picture.

Perhaps some roadkill smacked your radiator and deposited them there before falling to the ground? I had an armadillo hit my windshield in a car one night. I had no idea what it could have been at the time. The closest vehicle in front of me was an 18-wheeler almost 2-5ths of a mile down the road, but the only thing I can think of is that it got stuck in the double-tires and thrown nearly vertically up in the air, taking so long to come down that I had driven up to it and the 18-wheeler had sriven away from it. I found it's ant-riddled carcass on the side of the road after pulling over to investigate the "WTF?" moment and seeing a greasy smear going up the corner of the passenger side of the windshield.

Be back in a minute. I gotta run outside and check my bike for roadkill and maggots! That is a disgusting thought.

Armadillos
Hey CZRoe,
Armadillos are interesting creatures. When you startle one, they jump straight up in the air. Some get some decent height. So when you happen to surprise one on the road you get them straight in the grill. You must have gotten the Michael Jordan of armadillos to get one in the windshield. Steve |

Another possibility would be a rat or mouse. I've seen them crawl up into cars and even motorcycles, especially when temp drop, and they are looking to stay warm.
