Playing with Wildfire (mods with pics)

So it starts again!!

Wildfire has joined the stable. She is a brand new 300. Put 56 miles one her maiden voyage (took the way long way home) on 11/30 (that will be what i call her birthday )

Got home and went nuts with ordering parts!

Got her inside for the cold months so i can mod her up. Naturally she is decked out for Christmas. Also first thing i got was the Kawi 300 tail and tank bags. look better then saddlebags for now.

They both handle really well. I would say they definitely made improvements and its a smoother ride being fuel injected.

The 300 is a heavier bike but you don't really feel it on the move. I'll be able to give a more in depth comparison when the weather gets nicer again.

At this point the plan is to keep Pikachu as well. cafe racer may be in the works with him.

Picked up the tags, title and registration today.

Going to try to get the frame sliders on this weekend.

Still waiting for the tires to come in...

Next is to start doing some research on the exhaust.. I want a full system. Not super loud but good sounding. I like the quiet of the stock system but i want more POWER!

I think I'm going to go with a Two Brothers full system. The black series.

http://www.twobros.com/sku/005-3270107V-B

I really like the slip-on i had on my old 300.

Anywho. Got the new tiers on. so another thing down. Hmm... no pic. I'll take one later.

Thinking I'll do the sliders when the SS brake lines come in. Would have had them on but the set they got in had been for non ABS so waiting on that still. Probably should just get the system too... Do it all at once. Not like its a big rush. Looks like snow for tonight. lol

The new blue is nice too but I'm very happy with the red.

Ordered a Two Brothers system and K&N air filter from the dealer this weekend. They price matched Amazon for the system! Much prefer supporting the local places.

Also got the P-1X power tip (to hopefully keep it at a respectable volume. ) and a set of Stompgrips from Revzilla.

Once we get it all on I'm going to take her up to the dealer to instal the power commander and dyno tune her.

I'll post a update with pics when its all installed.

The have a Winter Test edition up there so i want to see if they'll let me see how the seat cowl would look.

I just saw the Winter test edition at my dealer. Looks good.

The seat cowl is pretty easy to install. It makes the bike look so much better. I put one on mine and love it. You can still release it with the key like the pillion. The price was worth it if you go genuine. I hear there could be fitment issues with aftermarket ones. Not sure if it is true. You'll have to ask your dealer but I haven't seen one in Passion Red yet genuine wise.

Before and after.

I had one on my 2012 and my 2013. Love the look. also modified the seat to work with the bracket for the cowl so i could still use my tail bag.

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=191007

This is the plan this go around too.

That really is annoying that the bracket prevents the seat from working as well. The design could have been better? Luckily I don't plan to have passengers either.
