shifter linkage adjustment questions (after frame slider install)
did the shogun frame sliders, roaring toys lowering blocks/links tonight. whew what a install not as bad as i thought though. ill post some pics up once i get the fairings buttoned back up. however, i marked the shifter linkage spline before i took everything apart but when i went to toss the sprocket cover on after moding it i realized my mark wore off. i went off this image in the dyi to give me a idea were to set it up at.
is there any way to get it back to how it was? measuring? right now its in between the 10 and 11 o clock position. i havent rode it yet just wanting to get some advice thanks guys! |

To put it lower you have to make the shift link longer, therefore undoing the actually shifter itself on the right handside of the link will lower it. To do this, remove the 1 bolt that keeps the shifter connected to the rearset, loosen the nut on the shift link connecting the shifter to the link, and twist the shifter anti-clockwise to undo the shifter. Make sure you leave enough thread on the shifter so that it doesn't come loose, if you're finding that there isn't enough thread, undo the shift link attached to the front sprocket side a few turns. Also, remember to re-tighten the nut on the shift link to the shifter itself. Play with it for a bit, and hopefully you can get your perfect shifter position.

there should be punch marks on both the shift shaft and the linkage end, IIRC. Line them up when you put the linkage end back on the splined shaft.

Thought I was totally off the topic, Kkim always uses all these fancy pancy technical words such as "splined shaft"
