Most motorcycle shops and places like Cycle Gear carry Plexus. I don't know if auto parts places would. I just looked online, and saw that they do sell it here:
http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/plexus.html That's about half price from what the local shop charges per can, so I might end up ordering a case anyway.

Surprised no one has mentioned Pledge in this thread! It's cheap, effective and smells good. I carry a can with me in my tank bag on long rides.

I don't know which ones, but I have read in the forum that some chemicals damage the physical integrity of the visor, making it fragile and less protective in case of a crash.

Not sure if this would be logical for normal riders, but I know some racers have clear covers they just peel off as they get splattered. Or perhaps spray the shield with RainX or Pam or something?

Idk about the shield, but I do know they mentioned this about painting your helmet a different color.

Bugs on the shield? That's not really much of a problem. Try being completely blinded by mud, sand or rain and trying to maintain top speed at the same time. I'm starting to think it should be a mandatory requirement that all motorcyclists start on the dirt before even getting near a street machine. It would teach everyone a lot about dealing with ****. If my screen gets really bad I just lift my visor. Hell, most of the time I have my visor open anyways, so my visor never really gets that bad in the first place. I just give the visor a good elbow grease scrubbin' with water when it gets really nasty. |

Someone asked, apparently it's enough of an issue to them to consider some sort of solution even if the problem is benign.

Hmmm, I am thinking perhaps it may be possible to tightly place some cling film aka saran wrap on your visor, so you can peal it and and bugs off then reapply, I don't know optically how good that would be.... May try in the morning.
I always use autoglym products, they are simply the best imo, and this is no exception. http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autogl...dorbmf66a8mmv4 |

Someone should just invent tear offs for street use. What they used to do for flat track racing was just tape multiple plastic films to their visors with masking tape and rip them off. Haven't any of you watched On Any Sunday?

Hey, there's a lot of lazy people and at the right price, just peeling off a film and having your face shield clean and smooth may be worth it to some people. It could be like a screen protector for phones. If it's still good, keep it on, once it gets scratched and junk peel it off. No harm done.
