Im sticking with Facebook.
Most of the people (like myself) that have been using Facebook for years, and have tons of notes, pictures, and other stuff loaded up there, arent going to bother going through the huge headache to migrate it all to a brand new untested goog app. Perticularly an app created by a company that has been known to just cut and run if the app wasnt netting them megabucks. I wish em the best, but I think they are a day late and a dollar short. My guess, it will probably pull all the myspace folks over from that dying site...and some twitter fans that secretly wish they had facebook, but wont because they would lose their twitterness. It will enjoy a mad dash rush for a few years, then sink back into obscurity with myspace. |

PM with your email addy for an invite. I have a bunch. Or you can see if you are able to send me messages on google+. Here's my profile. I think.
https://plus.google.com/114194477253232173133/posts So far it seems just like Facebook, but no apps. Unlimited post length, and integrated Google Apps. And a few minor other tweaks. I doubt it'll be a facebook killer seeing as to how it doesn't really do anything NEW. I'm kind of a Google fanboy, so I'm using it AND FaceBook ATM. But the google datamining is pretty scary. It's something new to spice up a dull night anway. |

Looks okay, I guess :/ If a majority of people jump ship from facebook, I might bother with it more, but right now it just seems like it'll be a pain to repopulate my friends list and what have you. Too much effort to put in to just get more of the same.

i think the main reason i started using g+ more than facebook even though a lot of my friends are still on FB is because of the mobile app... the facebook app really sucks. i mean it really sucks. plus huddles and hang-outs are flippin awesome.

I tried a huddle on the android app the other night. Am I missing something or is it just group IM? I was expecting video chat or something, but only got IM.

Doh, no mobile app for Hangouts. But THAT's the awesome bit I was really hoping for. Having a Dick Tracey style watch/phone! Put my "4G" to use.
Oh well, I'm sure it's coming. Some day. |

Added ya . When you add someone, does it ask them to confirm the add? I don't want people adding me that I don't want to associate with.

I'm new to it too, so obviously I'm still learning, but I think when I add people, they get an email or message that says I added them to my circle. When they receive it, I think they can add me to theirs or not if they choose not to, but I'm not 100% sure. I created a Ninjette friends circle which so far has a whopping 2 members. lol!
PS. I wrote all that and realized I didn't even address your question. I haven't had to "confirm" anything, however, if someone adds me to their circle, they are not automatically added to mine without my consent.

I'm G+. I used to Myspace, ditched it completely for FB. I have a feeling that I may be doing the same thing with G+. It will probably take a few years before I delete the FB but the features and interface on G+ is spectacular. I have barely used it to a mere 1% of it's potential so far and it has been great. For some reason I really like the drag and drop idea. Adding pictures is so easy without the maze of crap FB puts you through as well.
The circles idea is brilliant as well. Sometimes my friends have dark humor that I enjoy and this setup allows that to transpire without me worrying about what pops up elsewhere. Same with professional acquaintances. If FB doesn't tighten their shot group and catch up I have a feeling G+, once opened up to gen pub, will become huge. +1
