slider woes 2012 250r

Long story short I can not get the metal sleeve to sit flush enough where the stock motor mount bolt went through the motor... maybe I'm just bitching.. but ive tried on two occasions and ended up giving up and putting it all back together, two reasons I want to install these sliders.1. They were free from the dealership(long story) and 2.the added confidence they will give me to ride harder.

The kit is marked 08-11, its not a fitment issue but the kit is a street bikes unlimited no cut slider kit. Anyone have this kit or ran into this when installing them....? cheers

Yes yes, Im web aware of that, the stock bolt comes out, the kit supplies an inch long threaded sleeve that you bolt two separate bolts to in order the mount the slider brackets to hold the sliders now in place, there is a channel in the engine block that that sleeve fits Into, the sleeve seems to be a tad too big.. and you can't just bash it into place because it is needed to thread the two bolts through the block... its just an awkward design and was/is slightly frustrated. Lol thanks for the insight

Sliders are not miracle workers. If the bike tips over at any speed, there is going to be significant damage. Sometimes sliders can make it so a fairing is only scratched instead of broken, but sometimes not. The only time a slider is going to prevent damage might be if a bike drops on its side softly when not moving, and the slider absorbs enough of the impact that the more vulnerable parts of the bike don't hit something hard.

Maybe I misworded that, I am going to get my fiance on the bike, and if its going to be dropped I'd rather it be with sliders on, than not.. its not going to crash proof the bike, more damage control .
