New rider gear

Looking for some gear but I'm on a tight budget. Fixing to move out within this month so I need to have money still left for a security deposit. Looking for a jacket particularly blue and black or just black. y budget is 150 for a jacket and maybe a helmet (black and blue). I'm not too familiar with sites to browse around on but I found a nice icon contra jacket but I want to know if there's something out there that is better.

I live in florida so it gets pretty hot but I'm going to be commuting with my bike daily. I have no car so I will be in all types of weather. What do you suggest or if you have any sites you know about link me to them and I'll check them out

Sportbiketrackgear is having a huge a*s closeout sell. Awesome steals. Also, I'm fond of what Macna is making, multi-functional, protective gear and not too expensive. Revzilla is another awesome vendor, that gives you cash back when you purchase specific items, to go toward your next purchase. Both Revzilla and Twistedthrottle (Macna) have a point/cash back system, for future purchases.

Competition Accessory is a good vendor, they have video reviews for many of their products. They have their own house brand that sells for less than comparable products of other brands (either Shadow or Slider, I cant remember).
I think you may be hard-pressed to get a jacket and helmet for that. Maybe $200 will get you a nice mesh jacket and helmet. Don't forget the gloves too.
I have a Sliders Carmel that is mesh with 2 removable liners (thermal and waterproof). It works very well for me but I havent used it in the dead of summer here (can approach 100 on really hot days bu tends to be in the low 90s). I've done 80s without the liners and have been comfortable. I've done upper 30s and have been cold but mid-40s I was OK.

check craigslist in your area for used gear.. you can get quality stuff pretty cheap from someone getting out of riding or moving to new gear..

for new gear I recommend riders discount (he offers a discount to members of kawasaki ninja 300 forum, sorry competing forum I know) you can get rediculous prices on new gear (my last leather jacket I bought was 100 under msrp).. I also love revzilla, they are IMO the #1 gear retailer online, but you're going to pay MSRP or close to it..

That's a real tight budget, But it's understandable. Do a good search @ Motorcycle Closeouts. Depending on your size, you may be able to find something you like at a really good bargain.

I have an extra set of A* gloves, size L, but they are orange.

They're yours if you want them. I forget the exact model, but they are racing style gloves (but not the GP model).

It just came in today AND I LOVE IT! It's so comfortable and ergonomic! Although I shouldv'e known the alpinestar gloves would be a size smaller due to their sizing options...but whatever they're not that tight and are already worn in! Went riding today with a buddy. Ran into a few girls that rode in the same area and wanted to "ride" with us *wink wink* Going out this weekend!
