Friction Zone.

Hey all, I took the ninja in for the 600 mile service and they adjusted the clutch for me. Well I had a severely rattling clutch lever. The play was way out of specs. Any way now the play is where it should be, only thing is the friction zone is now furthur away from the bar. I like it closer is there any way that I can make it closer to the bar? Thanks Robert

nope. they're not adjustable levers. I let mine have some slack so that they're not so far out, but they vibrate and rattle a little whatever. works for me. cheaper than buying adjustable levers.

The OEM brake lever has a slack adjuster with a lock wheel on it. Just give it enough slack that it comes closer to the handle. Keep it far enough away that the clutch is completely disengaged when you bring the lever to the bar, but that will get the friction zone closer to the handle albeit with some buzzing from the vibrations. Works for me. I might put on an adjustable ex500 clutch lever instead though. only $40 and is an OEM part.
