Layed it down trying to fix damage

Hey guys, in a little bit of a jam trying to fix the damage I did after laying my bike down gently. LOL my question is I had to replace the blinkers and now after replacing them they turn on but they don’t blink. Sidenote had to replace the left control switch as well. I need direction on trying to find out why they won’t blink? Again they do turn on they just don’t blink And headlights won’t turn on. Thank you in advance

Hi Steven! Welcome to Ninjette!

Turn-signals not blinking can be caused by failed flasher-relay or bypassing flasher-relay (troubleshooting step).

Did you replace left-hand controls with OEM unit?
Or aftermarket? If so, which one?

As test, plug in your old left-hand controls and see if blinkers flash?

I did replace the left control switch with OEM part. Unfortunately the old blinkers are toast.

Hi, no I mean plug in old left-hand control switches. Then see if they work properly to make new blinkers work.

Since you changed two things at once, it’s not possible to determine which change caused non-blinkiness. So... undo just one change to test. Easiest to unplug new control switches and plug in old one temporarily to test.

Heck, it’s possible there’s 3rd change in system. Crash very well may have damaged your flasher relay. After all, it is mechanical part. Put your ear on it when activating turn-signals. Does it click or make buzzing sound? Try tapping it with screwdriver to see if it wakes up. If it doesn’t click, then most likely it’s died, kaput!
