[visordown.com] - Police speed camera warning

SOME of the UK’s best motorcycle routes are to be targeted by speed cameras for the next seven days, police have warned.

Police in North Yorkshire, home to many favourite twisty biking roads, say speed camera vans are targeting the sites to tackle collisions and ‘anti-social behaviour’.

Virtually all the routes are found on websites listing the UK’s best biking roads.

They include the A61 from Ripley to Thirsk, with a string of sweeping bends, and the A171 coast road North of Scarborough.

Police have published the speed camera locations on each route.

A speed camera update on the force’s website said they would be operating at ‘Motorcycle routes - routes used by motorcycles that have a high incidence of collisions and anti-social behaviour.’

It said: ‘The safety cameras are now more visible than ever before with each of the three vehicles bearing the same hi-vis livery as North Yorkshire Police's marked vehicle fleet.’

Here’s the full list of sites:

A171 Jugger Howe

A171 Scaling Dam

A19 Hollicars, Riccall

A19 Easingwold bypass Primrose Farm

A19 Easingwold bypass Thornhill Farm

A19 Green Lane Farm, Riccall

A19 southbound South Kilvington, Thirsk

A59 Menwith Hill Harrogate

A61 at Hutton Conyers

A63 Milford Hotel Newthorpe

A65 Draughton

Stillingfleet Mine, Escrick Road
