quitting smoking

I smoked my last cigar this morning at 7am... i decided to quit after many years of on and off smoking! Lungs feel like crap, and i get winded after two flights of stairs. Have quite the headache now that it has been more than 12 hours since my last smoke... Feels like head is going to split into two. Think i will head to bed and sleep off the headache. Wish me luck. When you feel like crap from smoking so much that it makes you want to quit and makes you get headaches and feel terrible, you will make yourself quit. Cold Turkey won't be a problem. (unless it comes with mashed potatoes and gravy)

I did after 15 years. =)

Just do things where you can't smoke anyways...like riding your bike. Everytime you feel the urge to smoke, hop on your bike and go for a spin!

Im looking at getting an electronic Cig. You get nicotene and inhale a water vapor. Think this will really help.

But you are still taking in nicotine.....that is the reason for addiction. The smoke is only part of the problem. The nicotine is a naugty drug that causes many problems all by itself.

Congrats Bunker on the cold turkey. It sucks, but like someone mentioned, use that free time that you now have to go do something that doesn't allow you to smoke. Replace the smoke with an apple. If that doesn't help try chocolate or a caffinated beverage. The caffeine will help give you part of the buzz you are missing and will be easy to transition off of in the future.

Well, it's not easy to quit cold turkey and I don't like setting myself up for failure. Alot of peeps who quit cold turkey, go right back to it after a few weeks or month. With that being said, I'm going with an ecig.

I've been using the mall kiosk vaporizors to help me quit. It's actually quite nice. Its been about 1.5 months now and I have come to hate the smell of smoke. If anyone is looking for an alternative, I would recommend it.

It does get expensive, but I feel better. Its nice to be able to get my sense of taste and smell back. Plus i dont smell like an ashtray.

If you see one of those kiosks in a mall they'll be happy to let you try them out. There are different flavors which is pretty neat.

Smoke free cigarette is the brand name. Dont buy it full price. Ive worked them down 30% or more. Also if you're a heavy smoker I'd suggest two batteries.
