Nope, not doing it. I don't have a fear of heights, but it looks like they don't use much in the way of safety gear for the just in case happening. Besides, at 5'6" I bet I would be considered too short to do it safely anyway.

Saw this yesterday - I think I could manage the fear of the height, but I don't think my forearms are strong enough to make that climb.
Only, I would just base-jump to get down.... |

As an engineer I'd had to climb a few rickety ladders in my time...only to find myself on some rickety catwalk. This is loonacy, though. That free climbing bit would have me crying like a little girl.

Heck ya I would do it as long as the pay was good. i don't have a fear of heights just a fear of falling so I would have a tight tight grip and watch every step I took.

I deal with heights on a daily basis.... the first 10 to 20 feet scare me the most after that I can deal ok- crazy huh. My fear of falling is NOT dying, its being handicapped for life. After getting up high, I figure chances are I wont survive. Thats how I deal with heights in my head anyway. I think coming up would be easier than going down. As far as the tools I would leave them up there for the next return trip!
Having said that- THERE IS NO WAY, NO WAY! I COULD HANDLE THAT HEIGHT.I WOULD GET THERE AND FREEZE.

Are you out of your friggin' mind? You'd have to be nuts to do that but those guys probably think it's fun and would do it for free if they could.
How much do they pay those guys? Do they get paid for each climb? Is $10,000 enough to pay to change the lightbulb at the top? |

I would do the ladder part, but the free climbing especially when you get to the slanted bars....that turns me away...

Id do it, I know they make some serious bucks for doing that.
Ive climbed shorter towers, in the 600ft range. Would be fun to scale one that high. |

I would totally do it, but since the free climb is optional I'd probably choose the slower, safer option at that point

I'd try it...I just don't think I would be strong enough. I'd be resting every 2-3 steps.

The recent video works, the one at the top of this thread in the first post has in fact been pulled. Which is a shame, as it was a pretty crazy vid...
