You would think there would be an easy answer to this simple question. Maybe I'm just getting old enough to have a lot of memories so it is harder to pick just one.

Maybe it is watching your daughter get married; holding your grand-daughter for the first time; being at the Family cabin in Estes Park with your family and watching your kids try to catch a chipmunk with cantaloupe seeds, a box, a stick, and a piece of string on the same rock and the same way you did, and your dad did before you; watching your grown children enjoy each others company (yes it will happen) when they don't know you are watching; beating lung cancer and hearing your oncologist say you're still clean, I'll see you in six months; taking your first long ride on your first motorcycle; seeing the tach on your '01 Ninja at 11K in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for the first time and knowing you wont have to clean your britches when you get home.

For right now, until the next great moment comes along maybe it's my family showing me why I'm the luckiest person on this forum when they gave me my birthday present this Christmas -

^^This post makes me smile^^ You may be an old guy, OldGuy, but you sure haven't forgotten the truly important things in life!

PS: My wife and I went to Estes Park, CO for our honey moon almost two summers ago. It's an absolutely gorgeous little town. <-- That trip made me smile (pretty much the whole time).

The premise is that Kelly may get to come to CA for a track day if the job allows. The nice part about this kind of gift is that it does not have an expiration date.

Now as to me being a good boy in 2009 - I may have to work on that.

What makes me smile? - At the end of most days getting to talk to my husband via webcam/chat on yahoo.. And talking about finally going on our first honeymoon on/around our two year anniversery of being married. He's going to take me to Busch Gardens in FL on his two week RR before going back again.

I'm dying to see the tigers there..

lol yeah, I'm still excited about it and it's 2 months away. Out of 2 years being married we've only spent about 4 months of it actually together. Since we're both in the military in different branches we were only seeing each others on the weekends if we were lucky. We were best friends before we got married about 2 1/2ish years though so being apart isn't that bad.

I have been thinking about popping the question to him but I am kinda old fashioned and I want him to ask. We have talked (a little) about getting married. He apparently also has a ring in mind but its a very expensive ring and he isn't that rich... so that is the main delay.

Well just rub it in, Kelly. You don't have to remind them that we live in Hawaii, with beautiful sunny days in the 70's and 80's year 'round, gorgeous beaches populated with bikinis and they are on the mainland with the cold, snow and ice.
