Anyone in the Northeast looking for a project bike?
This looks to be a good candidate:
Late-80s EX500 that looks to be in fair shape, running, 17K miles, $750. http://newhaven.craigslist.org/mcy/1474301397.html No affiliation... just noticed it on Craigslist. |

Man! They seriously need to do a redesign on the 500! It's way worse than the ninjette was as far as body styling, and it's been that way longer! Good grief.

Might go to that auction in Mass tomorrow. Friend of mine just came back from an auction with some 2 cylinder honda i didn't recognize (possibly due to Spider bicycle style handlebars and squared off fiberglass tank). Possibly a thoroughly flogged and left for dead 305 judging by the kickstarter and the outward pointing exhaust ports.

Actually they did do a refresh somewhere around 1994, when the EX500 became the Ninja 500. Wasn't nearly as dramatic as the 250 makeover, though. AFAIK the most noticeable change was in the front fairing, which became a bit pointier.

a redesigned 500 would be sweet. With full fairings and fuel injection.
