Won't start after valve adjustment
Just need some ideas from ninjette as to what the problem may be on my bike. Has anyone gotten into trouble after doing their valve adjustments that they looked over?
What I mean by the bike "Not starting" is that the starting motor is not kicking over and there is also a click when hitting the ignition with no noise until I let go of the ignition and then, nothing. *also in case this may have affected anything, I did also take out the CA kleen air system but the vacuum and gas hoses are in place. & I also put in a little longer bolt for the camshaft chain tensioner (too tight?) does the bolt actually hold the tension or just the clockwise spin of it? What I have tried so far: 1. all wires I have double checked and are correctly in place 2. all fuses in good condition 3. turned the engine over again after everything was assembled (almost sounded like it was going to turn on 4. battery has full charge edit: Tried turning it on again but it sounds like something is grinding? the starter motor may be blocked by something to not turn the engine over? (but what could it be?) HELP! Thanks in advance! |

sorry I haven't done valve yet so no idea? If you had everything back together correctly, I'm thnking your timing is off. Posted via Mobile Device |

And yes, I will probably have to check my timing again although before I put the valve cover on I made sure by my markings that the sprocket was exactly aligned with the chain from how it was in the beginning. Does it matter to turn the engine exactly where the first cylinder is at the highest point or anything like that? |
