86 fairing

I was wondering if anyone had any clue if any lower fairings off any other bikes would fit my 86 or if one was made for the 86 and mines just missing it? Also my exhaust is not stock so I'm not sure how that would interfere...

EDIT: even if I'd have to start with a fairing off of another bike and modify to make fit, any suggestions on what would look good on it? Or what to start with? I just like the look of a lower fairing and think it would update the looks of the bike slightly.. And it's something different

The 86-87 fairings are unique to those years so nothing from later models will interchange, (engine is different matter). Targa use to make a full lower fairing and gaudy fork covers back when the bike come out but thats 25+ years ago. Kawasaki also makes a dedicated lower chin fairing for the 86-87 250 and they are rare but do show up on Ebay if you got the patience waiting for them to show up. There is also a factory case guard that was available just for 86-87 250s but don't think that's compatible with lower fairings.

Thanks for the info! The targa one you're talking about is that like the first pic you posted? I would like one like either of the bottom two pics... If anyone on here has one they'd like to part with, pm me! What would be a fair price to pay if I did happen to locate one?

Yes, the black and white pic is the one by Targa. Price vary wildly, this one I just found but its cut up and price too high in my opinion and no mounting brackets.

Hmm.. Kinda tempting. Does seem a little high I'd maybe jump on it for a hundred bucks... Mounting brackets, I could make some up pretty easy I think. Write up a program and machine some out of aluminum or something..


EDIT: I contacted targa to see if this is anything that was still available, (didn't hurt to ask..) he said that they were a special order it when they were new and that they are a rare item. I asked him to reproduce... There was no reply...
