James Rispoli fought hard on an unfamiliar track to place his Celtic Orient Express Racing #1 Suzuki GSX-R 600 in second position on the grid for Sunday's race. Corey Alexander would qualify in sixth position on his #5 National Guard Fairhills Group Suzuki GSX-R 600, having visited Miller last season and won the race convincingly in 2011. James took the lead early in Sunday's race, but after three laps began to fade slowly through the pack and would finish eighth, with valuable points towards the championship in hand. Corey had a poor start which dropped him back to 20th position at the beginning of the race, but after regrouping and putting his head down, clawed his way back up to finish eleventh in a field packed with heavy competition. Rispoli holds on to his SuperSport West points lead, with a solid 21 points over second place.
