I think we nailed it! Still need to tweak the mixture screws to get him 100% happy at idle and take off but he's ridable!

Yes yes, i know. "that's what she said."

Ok, so its about time i updated this.

Main jet and needles are finally good. We the iffy weather and time constraints with the new part-time job we had trouble doing the change test change test thing.

Down to getting the idle happy.

Got some new grips though.

He runs!! And well!! Haha

Did the valve adjustment today... they were too tight believe it or not. Don't know how that happened.
Got the mixture screws set. He still wants to sync the carbs.
I'll get the jetsame and washer sizes we used up soon.

Also got a newgen master cylinder and new brake pads.

This is what was in the caliper...

Smaller then the pregen one, looks a lot better!

^^ I just realized that picture of the brake fluid was upside down!

Anywho. After ripping the cheap bags i traded in the tank bag i couldn't use for some big girl saddlebags.

20160703_092133.jpg

Put on the 2bros power tips. wow, what an improvement is the sound! Not "stupid loud" anymore so I don't feel bad firing him up at 6am.

And this is what happens when you put your banana down next to the power tips... I about fell off my chair when i looked back.

Thanks! one of the nice things about the pregens is that bags are so much easier to mount up and actually set nicely. I still need to play with the position of them but so much nicer than the backpack!

These: Sedici Toscana Saddlebags

I've had them before. Really good for a Cycle Gear brand. BIG too.

Not yet but hopefully over the winter. We have to.. Er, he has to, take the motor apart to see if it's salvageable. Something to do with the rods...

Still, worse case is we get the slipper clutch to work and maybe the FI system.

Pikachu is not forgotten!

Just a change of plans now. We'll be pulling the slipper clutch out of the 300 motor and installing a IF kit. (Thanks @thejaredhuang!)
No more carbs!!

I'm on the fence with doing a cafe racer. I really like the idea. A my size one would be so cool. And i think the pregens look good like that.

Looking forward to a cool project!

@LittleRedNinjette,
I am very interested in the Slipper clutch swap so any info you can post would be appreciated. I have heard (but not tried or confirmed) that the clutch will just slide on to the shaft but that the case has to be ground a little bit to make clearance. I want to add a slipper clutch to the wifes bike but could not confirm it would even fit. Great project and cant wait to see what you finally decide to do with the bike.
