[RideApart] - LA Auto Show adds Two-Wheelers

LA Auto Show adds Two-Wheelers

The Los Angeles Auto Show (Nov. 18-27) will add a number of vehicles “featuring the latest technology devices that embrace all forms of transportation and complement new and traditional vehicles.” The “GO” display features the latest smart mobility devices, rideables and technology, including electric scooters, bikes and mobility apps.

CycleBoard: A three-wheeled electric skateboard with handlebar, is “the world's most versatile stand-up electric vehicle. The company will display four custom CycleBoards and accompanying accessories for attendees to check out. CycleBoard will also have a test drive sign-up sheet to demo the new CycleBoard after the show.

We had to feature the CycleBoard first because it looks the least interesting of all the e-vehicles featured in this article. They are basically a tough electric three wheele scooter. Imagine rolling up to work on this thing?DYNABike: DYNABike is invested heavily in researching and developing energy-conserving and environmentally-friendly electric vehicles. Celebrating EVs, DYNABike will feature three electric bikes and two new electric scooters made with a carbon fiber body.

The Toyota i-Road should be as easy to use as a motorbike, without getting wet in rain, and no need to wear a helmet. Since it is the vehicle that maintains balance, not the driver, stability is maintained not only on curves, but on slopes and over uneven surfaces.Toyota: Toyota will showcase the Toyota i-Road, a new concept in urban mobility that combines the potential of both cars and motorbikes. With the convenience of a motorbike and the comfort of a car, the i-Road is easy to use and environmentally friendly.

Yamaha: Yamaha will bring its PWseries e-Bike System and JWX-2 electric assist unit for wheelchairs to GO. The PWseries has a "triple sensor system" that enables an "organic assist feel" that has been part of Yamaha's development philosophy from the start.

The Yamaha E-bike Systems PW-X is capable of making iny bicycle into an electric motor powered machine. The JWX-2 applies the power assist system technology from Yamaha's electrical power assisted bicycle systems to wheelchairs, creating a power assist unit that adjusts the level of assistance based on the wheelchair hand rim input load.

These are the basic components that make up the Yamaha E-bike Systems PW-X system.Additional companies participating in GO include AutoGravity, Honda UNI-CUB, Juicer Bikes, Micro Kickboard, SKURT, Spira4u Co., URB-E and Uscooters. For more information about GO and other additions to this year's LA Auto Show, or to purchase tickets, please visit LAAutoShow.com.

We've included videos from Toyota, Yamaha and Juicer Bikes so you can see for yourself how these electric vehicles look, drive and ride.
