Can you mount your helmet to this bike?

As in, is there a way to "lock" your helmet to this bike so I don't have to carry it with me everywhere I go? I saw a really cool rack under an R6 that the guy folded his leathers and slid in there (under the rear seat, above the rear tire) and his helmet was sitting on the side of the bike. Does our bike have a feature like this for the helmet? If so, how does it work? I know my pregen had a little locking mechanism on the side but I have yet to find anything similar on my 2012. I'm not too worried about theft- I'd rather have the convenience of not having to carry it with me and take a small risk of losing it.

You can buy a neat little cable lock that you thread through your helmet chin bar and jacket sleeve, and lot it to the bike. There are different types... search for "helmet lock" at the major suppliers like Motorcycle Superstore, etc..

The answer is no; there is no stock helmet mount on the bike but a cheap solution as suggested by Jim.

I know of several riders that have had their helmet strap hacked off with a pocket knife and a few that came back to a stinky surprise in their bucket. Loud pipes really do attract attention!

I use a cable gun lock. The cable and the lock's body are plastic coated. They're the perfect size for use as a helmet lock and can be stored under the seat or put in a jacket pocket when not in use.

I just hang the helmet on a passenger peg and run the cable through the helmet's face bar and the peg bracket. With the helmet low on the bike, and if you park facing in the right direction, you can keep the helmet shaded so the sun doesn't heat it up.

They're about $15 for one made by Master at any gun shop. I think Walmart carries them too. Check with your local police or sheriffs department before buying one though. Some law enforcement agencies give them away for free!

What InvisiBill pointed out, there is actually a cut out in the solo cowl for this feature to still exist.

I'll be a monkeys uncle. Nice find, but my seat doesnt close properly when i hook it in there. Of course, I tried with both rings, guess I could try with one.

I can find the helmet hook on mine, but there doesn't seem to be enough clearance to hook a full-face helmet onto it. Anyone else had luck getting it to fit on a pre-gen?

My pregen had a keyed lock that matched my ignition. It was right in the rear wheel well on the left side. I could have ran a strap through or the d-hooks.

Mine doesn't quite fit if I use both D-rings, but using only one works fine.

you have to use one ring and make sure it gets all the way down in the bracket for the seat to close correctly. It can be a pain when trying to lock a helmet on both sides of the bike but it works.
