How do you get anything like bondo or putty to stick to that plastic of the fairing, without using something that actually partially dissolves the fairing and gets incorporated into it?

The product I use is from a company called SEM, it's an autobody repair material made for plastic repair on panels such as bumpers. It's nice because it does adhere so well and it has the same characteristics of plastic so it should not pop off like traditional "Bondo" can. Of course you also have to prep the panel properly too, rough up the area so that the material has a "mechanical edge" to grab on to. It is expensive though, the can I posted a picture of in my blog retails around $60, thankfully I work in the automotive field and got it at wholesale price.
