Plumbing additional fuel tank.
Like it says, got a rally type tank, I was wondering if it would be possible to route the spare tank into the overflow hose barb on the factory tank...maybe I'm just crazy, maybe some one has tried it.... Thanks

Welcome, Evan !!!
The overflow hose barb on the factory tank is open to the atmosphere; it does not communicate with the interior of the tank. Your secondary tank must have a vent and a low connection to the factory tank.

Remember, with a T if you leave it open then flow will equalize between the two tanks. If your extra tank is on top of the stock tank then your fuel will run out through the fuel cap venting system, and from there through the fuel cap recess drain to the ground (or over your hot exhaust if the drain hose is too short or missing).

Most gravity-fed aux tanks use a separate valve to prevent that from happening. Keep valve closed, run main tank down until it is pretty low, then open that valve to allow the aux tank to slowly drain into the main tank. As long as it drains faster than the bike uses fuel, there are no issues with getting the full range of both tanks.

Could try putting the stock sender unit into the sub fuel tank. Use a carb compatible electric fuel pump. Weld in a return line between the two tanks. Adjustable pressure regulator.
http://www.facet-purolator.com/cube-fuel-pumps.php E85 compatible http://www.holley.com/12-804.asp Fuel pressure Regulators are used to adjust for fuel pressure requirements of various carburetors. Too much fuel pressure for a given needle and seat assembly may cause flooding or driveability problems. |

Whoa that'd be way over complicated for what I need. But is certainly an idea!
