Maybe i got lucky

WELL I PURCHASE MY 2002 NINJA 250 AROUND THREE WEEKS AGO AND HAD IT BROUGHT TO ME ON A PICK-UP TRUCK. I PARKED IT FOR THREE DAYS THEN WHEN I WENT TO START IT WITH THE CHOKE ON IT RAN FINE BUT WHEN I CLOSED THE CHOKE IT WOULD STOP RUNNING OVER AND OVER. ON DAY TWO SAME THING ( I HOPE THE MAD FACE CAME OUT) SO ON DAY THREE I ADDED THIS THING CALLED """SEA FOAM""" (I HEARD FROM THIS FORUM SOMEWHERE) AND JUST DROVE THE BIKE (SHABBY AT FIRST) BUT AFTER A TANK(TWO DAYS OF DRIVING) IT STARTED TO RUN NORMAL-----GRRRRREAT, I DID HAVE TO MESS WITH A BLACK KNOB ON THE LEFT SIDE A LITTLE--THE POINT IS SEA FOAM MIGHT BE THE ANSWER WHEN YOU HAVE I BAD IDLE OR WITH NO CHOKE THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF

Sounds like the carbs could be gummed up happened to my pregen when I had it. I also took my tank off and emptied it and cleaned it out. Sea foam helped but I would def get the carbs cleaned.

mine does the same kinda. when its warm just leave the choke adjust just right to keep the rpms up...but if it has to stay at like 3-4k rpms to stay alive. carb work is needed.
