WNC/Asheville area riders

At the end of the month I'm moving to the Asheville area. I'm extremely excited for the riding up there. I know there are a few of ya in that area. I want to start riding with more experienced riders. The only guys I've ridden with down here can be classified as squiddly and they hardly ever ride. I don't know anyone in that area so I figured this would be a good place to start.

Well I don't know anyone in the area. But I want you to know that Asheville is situated among the best motorcycle roads in the country. If you like beautiful twisty mountain roads this is a wonderful place to be. Enjoy!

I'm just over the hill in Tn about 45 mins away from Asheville. But 99% of the time I ride in WNC soooo many good roads
You're more than welcome to come ride with us any time.

Not yet, I'll have to do that. Nothing against squids but these guys make fun of me for wearing the little gear that I have. I'm looking forward to the twisties! It's sad that the most fun I get to have in a corner down here is a freeway on/off ramp.

You need better riding buddies. The guys I ride with make fun of me when I don't wear my riding pants around town running errands.

I know how Florida is... I lived in Jacksonville when I bought my bike.
Since when does what other people say matter in your life? I'd probly make fun of you for caring that people make fun of you

It doesn't, it's just irritating. They're opinions have no bearing on what I do. I'd just rather start riding with more ATGATT guys/more experienced riders.

Most of the squids I ride with wear gear... They are also way mor advanced than me; sometimes scary wild though

Welcome to Carolina!!!

So I finally got up here. Man, I can't believe I didn't move here earlier! My house is right off Highway 9 south of Black Mountain. I can't believe what I've been missing! The bluegrass here is incredible too, but that's another topic. Any of you guys know of any shops in WNC that have a good gear selection? I need to upgrade/refresh my gear badly. There are some things I might buy online, but If I'm going to buy leathers I want to try 'em on.

You're on the other side of Asheville from me. Good riding, I think north of you. Hopefully by now you've gotten settled in. I have a thread from the last couple of weeks getting some guidance on a Ninja 250. Finally bought a 2007.

We moved from Atlanta in Feb and have a house over in Waynesville with some good short rides just a few minutes from me....BRP is about 7 miles away. 209 up to Hot Springs is about 6 miles away. 215 south from 276 down past Lake Logan to the BRP is a really challenging ride. And plenty more.

Checking in. Hit me up if you'd like to ride. I'm old, slow, and fairly smooth...

Ride on,

J~
