Nice quiet helmet options?

I am looking for a helmet that is not going to break the bank, be relatively quiet, and work well for my new intercom system.
I'm Pretty sure anything will be quieter than my FX-39DS with its peak and huge visor and wonderful venting.

I have in my sights right now, a Nolan N104, I was just wondering what other helmets you guys have used that are nice and quiet, on the ninjas.

Thanks

The quietest helmets are still going to be quite loud at higher speeds. Would you consider wearing ear plugs?

I always wear plugs. A new pair of foam plugs every day.

All of helmets are Fulmer brand, they fit my head perfectly, and I wear either earplugs, or ear buds anyway regardless of how well the block noise.

Here's some reviews on some of the models I own,

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...fulmer-helmet/

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...lmer-m1-modus/

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...met/fulmer-d4/

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...er-helmets.htm

Another excellent resource is the reviews on WebBikeWorld

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...le-helmets.htm

Buy a excellent quality ear plugs, not those cheap ones at Wal-Mart, or if you use ear buds Buy the good ones, not cheap.

Just to give you an example.

Radians Custom Molded Earplugs, Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003A28OW6..._mZL9ub18T09XJ

Keep in mind the higher the NNR rating the better the block unwanted noises

I have not tried these helmets out, but I know Schuberth is well known for a quiet helmet, they have a huge neck roll and put much thought and design in making a quiet helmet, among other things, but they are expensive. Shoei Qwest is another known quiet helmet.

How a helmet fits you head is one of the most important part, along side the safety rating, which obviously is first.

Noise levels are irrelevant, you should always ride with earplugs.

I had a Vega ?Insight? that was really quiet, but I wanted something that was snell rated so I got a Scorpion EXO R-410 and it is most definitely NOT quiet. I wear earplugs and they drown out most of the wind/road noise, but I still have problems hearing my com system at speed sometimes.

Thanks for the input guys, it sucks that I don't have any good motorsports places close. I have a nolan and a shoei on the way. We'll see which I have to send back.

I have to agree with "always wear earplugs."

I switched from an old HJC to a Shoei RF-1200 and it was definitely an improvement in quietness, but at highway speeds there is simply no getting around the fact that riding is going to be a noisy experience. Nothing mitigates this more than a good seat of earplugs.

I think that's the least ugly Nolan helmet I've seen. The orange one.

I like the orange one, but the chance to save $40 was too much for my cheap self to pass up. the N104 EVO is even nicer looking, but I'm not shelling out that kind of dough. I'm pretty sure the SHoei is going back, I doubt it will even fit

The Nolan fit. It's my New long distance helmet, should be nice and quiet for my Appalachian tour in May!

I just got it and have already installed the Sena Bluetooth. Wife has one too, so we can talk if needed
